The Hong Kong Fashion Designers Association (HKFDA) was founded in 1984 by a group of successful and enthusiastic local fashion designers. As a non-profit-making and self-financed organisation, it aims to unite fashion designers and with professionalism and expertise, help develop and better their careers and the industry, within and beyond the territory.

 

With support from the industry and fellow designers throughout the years, the Association has evolved into a key platform to share ideas and experiences by organising fashion events such as catwalk shows, exhibitions, seminars, interviews, and group discussions. Reputed not only as an official unit of Hong Kong fashion elites for providing excellent expert service, but the HKFDA also joins forces with other organisations to promote the industry. As such, HKFDA is recognised as one of the leading fashion institutions in the Hong Kong SAR, Mainland China, and other cities in the Asia Pacific region.

 

成立於1984年，是一個屬于自負盈虧的非牟利機構。其創辦人均是資深時裝設計師，不但對時裝設計充滿熱誠並付于力行，更推動本地時裝設計；藉此凝聚時裝界精英，發揮業界力量，承蒙業界和設計師的支持得以不斷成長和進步。
 

協會多年來舉辦各類時裝表演活動、展覽、專業講座、設計師專訪、和研討會等，讓業界和設計師分享資訊和經驗，不但為業界擔當著交換訊息的平台角色，更是香港具領導地位的專業時裝團體之一。協會曾在上海、台灣及澳門等地方舉行大型時裝匯演和展覽，一起與其他亞太區攜手推動設計業。
 

此外，協會對積極培育時裝設計新秀亦不遺餘力，設立時裝設計獎項和評審小組、對具設計天份和成績優異的學生予以鼓勵，當中包括青年設計大獎、李漢明時裝繪圖大獎。其中，協會舉辦之「十大傑出衣著人士選舉」(現稱十大傑出時裝．視野大獎) 及「周年時裝匯演」均為時裝界矚目盛事。
